Clients with Websites on vaxxine.com's UNIX hosts are automatically
provided with Website Usage Reports of the visitors to their site each
month. This service is provided free of charge to all Website clients
on vaxxine.com's UNIX based hosts. Detailed statistics are provided on
the report. This information is very helpful in tracking how well your
site is exposed to the rest of the Internet and is a quick measure of
what features your visitors use most. From it you can plan how you can
make your site even better and more helpful to your existing and potential
clients. You can even use it to help gauge the effectiveness of any advertising
you do for your web site or any specials you run to pull in visitors.
Further, since you get a new report every month you can track changes
in your visits.
When accessing your Website Usage Reports directory you will need to
enter your current vaxxine.com user name and password. Please be informed
that if you change your password before the logs for the next month are
processed you must continue to use your old password to access your logs
until the new processing takes place. The report is prepared by an automated
program and is generally updated by the 7th day of each month for the
previous month. Since stock software is used to generate the reports
customizations cannot not be done unless you contract programming work.
Website Usage Reports are stored for review for a maximum of six (6)
months. It's a good idea for you to save/make copies of these Reports
if you wish to be able to refer back to them before they are removed
from our servers.
How to access your Website Usage Reports:
For Sites Hosted with a domain:
http://www.vaxxine.com/vhostusage/www.domain.com
(replacing 'domain.com' with your actual domain)
For directory sites:
http://www.vaxxine.com/vhostusage/www.vaxxine.com.directory
(replacing 'directory' with your actual directory name)
The following section is about understanding the reports.
This section discusses what happens when somebody connects to your web
site, and what you can and can't find out about them. If you think that
you can get statistics on how many people have visited your web site
(or want to know why you can't), then this section is for you.
Analog is the name of the program which generates website usage reports
for web sites hosted on our UNIX accounts. This section provides a summary
of Analog's reports, what they contain, and which commands influence
each one.
