Manually setting up an email account:

Setting up an email account in an email client is very similar in almost every program available. For this example, we'll use one of the most popular programs, Outlook Express:

  1. Open Outlook Express (you do not need to be connected to the Internet to set an email up)
  2. Click on Tools from the main menu
  3. Click on Accounts
  4. Click on Add and select “Mail”
  5. Type in your Display Name (this is what people will see as your name when you send them an email; as such, what you put down here is entirely up to you), click next
  6. Type in your full email address, click next
  7. Make sure the drop down menu says POP3
  8. Type in under Incoming (POP) Mail Server: pop.vaxxine.com
  9. Type in under Outgoing (SMTP) Mail Server: mail.vaxxine.com
  10. Click Next
  11. Make sure Account Name has your Vaxxine user name
  12. Type in your Vaxxine password
  13. Make sure remember password is the only check box selected, click Next
  14. Click Finish

Vaxxine's WebMail:

WebMail is a feature that allows you to check your email from the Vaxxine homepage. By simply going to http://mail.vaxxine.com and inputting your Vaxxine user name and password, you can check any email at any time, from anywhere, with no need for any special email software or configuration.

Using Webmail:

When you log into WebMail, you may be prompted to perform inbox maintenance. This is a personal preference, and you can choose to perform the maintenance or skip it. This prompt will reoccur approximately once a month. Once in your inbox, you can see your messages. From here you can chose to click on the “From” or “Subject” lines to get into the email messages.

WebMail is also a good tool to use when diagnosing why you cannot download your email if you are on dial-up. If you have a large email, you can read it in WebMail, then delete it, and you should be able to download the rest of your email. To delete an email in WebMail with the message open, click on the delete button at the top of the message. To confirm the delete, click the “Remove Deleted” link on the upper right hand side of the inbox view. To delete an item from the inbox view, put a checkmark in the left hand column by left clicking the box, then press the delete link at the top of the page, and confirm the deletion by clicking the remove deleted option on the right hand side.
